  • ..Mission..

      The mission of our group is to unite the people in our community at Barangay Frances, Calumpit, Bulacan, Philippines. We can do this by starting with different groups in the community, "basic ecclesial communities" whose members gather together to analyze and come up with solutions to the needs of our community. Sikap is promoting livelihood programs for everybody and is a non-sectarian NGO. We invite you to join us.

    ..Vision..

          The vision is to improve the economy by uplifting the living conditions of the families in our community. This can only be done with the cooperation and help of the members, the religious and political leaders, private companies who are willing to support the projects of the group, and our friends and relatives abroad.

          The Sikap was formally launched in Calumpit on Nov 24, 2008, but the elections will be held soon in 2009. Through the support of Sikap members;

    • Rose R. Manlapig who facilitated the support from the office of the Provincial Governor Joselito R. Mendoza through Sulong Pa Bulacan coordinator Flor N. Guzman
    • Susan Centeno who facilitated the support from Cong. Marivic Alvarado.
    • Mayor James de Jesus of Calumpit gave cash and other generous gifts to the citizens of Frances.
    • Vice Mayor Alner Lim Rañola of Calumpit, Bulacan who gave grocery prizes for the members.
    • Provincial Board Member of Bulacan, Honorable Michael Fermin

          Through their support as well through the generosity of private          individuals in our community;

    • The Sikap was able to Sagip 108 families for at least 2 days before Christmas with 2 kilos of rice and some groceries.
    • Some of our members benefited from the free Acupressure Training Program of the provincial governor.

    5. KRISKA Groups
      • These groupings started even before the establishment of Parish Pastoral councils in the different Parishes.With the help and direction of Msgr. Garcia, then Parish Priest of St. John the Baptist,our community was divided into 5 (five) groups called "KRISKA" groups which stand for "Kristyanong Kapitbahayan" who meet every week in order to read the Word of God and share their reflections. These 5 groups are called, KRISKA A, B, C,D and E.
